SOUL TONES

The drums mimes

a spirits heart.

The sound of its beat

allows plenary feeling

and the ability to

embrace one’s self,

            when heard.

 

The drum emulates

tonicity of speech

with the beats of

upper and lower 

            vowels.

 

The drum beats

become words

creating messages,

lyrics, music or -

            jive talking.

 

The drum has been

in the society of

intelligent man,

the lurking world

of the spirit in all

four corners of

the earth

for thousands of

years. Extending

from Bibical times.

So, the drum infinitely

nourished

my ancestors hearts.

Now- when the beat

of  a drum vibrates

thru my body assuredly-

 

I can feel the beat

of my forefathers

hearts.
